You access it by going to the SharePoint admin center and selecting the &#8220;Migration&#8221; option, in the left navigation:<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"276\" height=\"487\" class=\"wp-image-8925\" style=\"width: px;\" src=\"https:\/\/help.metashare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/SharePoint-Migration-Manager.jpg\" alt=\"SharePoint Migration Manager\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.metashare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/SharePoint-Migration-Manager.jpg 276w, https:\/\/help.metashare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/SharePoint-Migration-Manager-170x300.jpg 170w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 276px) 100vw, 276px\" \/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to migrate documents from SharePoint Server 2010, 2013 and 2016 or other cloud environments, you can use either &#8220;SharePoint Migration Tool&#8221; or &#8220;Mover&#8221;, both available from the Migration Manager page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to migrate documents from another site in SharePoint Online, you can also use the standard \u201cMove to&#8221; function, available in the document library\u2019s toolbar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information see: <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/sharepointmigration\/mm-get-started\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Overview: Migrate your file shares to Microsoft 365 with Migration Manager<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Some facts about the tool<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>With the ability to set up multiple computers as &#8220;agents&#8221;, Migration Manager lets you scale your migration project as much as you need. Your migration tasks will automatically be assigned to the next available agent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the destination document library, the documents are migrated to a folder hierarchy that matches the folder hierarchy in the source location.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Migrated documents maintain these metadata from the file server:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Date created: The time when the document was created on the file server. In SharePoint the value will be added to out-of-the-box column called \u201cCreated\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Date modified: The time when the document was last modified on the file server. In SharePoint the value will be added to out-of-the-box column called \u201cModified\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Owner: In SharePoint the value will be added to out-of-the-box columns called \u201cCreated by\u201d &amp; \u201cModified by\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Options when migrating documents are:\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\">\n<li>To maintain the permissions that were set in the source location. It is also possible to use a mapping table for usernames.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is possible to only migrate documents that are newer than a specific date (can be applied on both creation date and last modified date). <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Migration Manager has a graphical user interface, but it is also possible to use PowerShell to run migration jobs.
