{"id":182,"date":"2020-02-17T16:36:21","date_gmt":"2020-02-17T15:36:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/help.metashare.com\/metashare-help-user-manual-how-to-create-a-copy-of-a-document\/"},"modified":"2025-08-08T13:09:17","modified_gmt":"2025-08-08T11:09:17","slug":"how-to-create-a-copy-of-a-document","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/help.metashare.com\/en\/metashare\/usermanual\/manage-documents\/how-to-create-a-copy-of-a-document\/","title":{"rendered":"How to create a copy of a document"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>If you want to reuse a document that already resides in a MetaShare workspace, as a template for a new&nbsp;document, with a different file-name, the method is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/help.metashare.com\/en\/usermanual\/how-to-open-a-document\">Open the document<\/a> and save the document as a copy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save your document by selecting &#8220;Save a\u00a0Copy&#8221; option in the document&#8217;s &#8220;File&#8221; tab, give the name a new meaningful name and click on the &#8220;Save&#8221; button:<br><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"953\" height=\"345\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/help.metashare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-202.png\" alt=\"Select the &quot;save a copy&quot; option in MS Word\"><\/figure><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SharePoint will now ask the user which Content Type the document should be saved as.
