In MetaShare, you can tag documents and workspaces with terms (a.k.a. keywords) and people in your organization. Tags can be applied when you for example create or upload a document, or on an already existing document.

Select tags
Single value field
We will use the Area field as an example.
- Click the pen icon to start editing.
- Select one of the available terms (Finance through Support in this case). You can also search to narrow down the list.
- Upon selecting, you will return to the form and see that Management has been selected.
You can change it by clicking the pen icon again, or clear the value by clicking the “X” on the Management tag.
Multi value field
We will use the Keyword field as an example.
- Click the pen icon to start editing.
- Select each value you want by checking the checkbox next to it.
- Upon selecting, the tag will be added above the search box.
- Click apply to apply the tags to the properties and close the dialog, when you are satisfied with your selection.
Browse through a hierarchy

- Click the parent to display its children. We will use ISO 9001:2015 in this example.
- From here you can:
- Go back to the previous level.
- Select the current parent (ISO 9000:2015 in this example).
- Expand or select any other children.
- Apply your selection
Create new tag

- Optionally, browse to the desired parent tag. We will use ISO 9001:2025 in this example.
- Type the name you want into the search box. If creation is allowed there will be a option marked (new) that you can select.
- Click the value marked (new) to select it.
The tag is not created in the system until you have saved.
